This was so beautiful! It made me smile!! What a lovely story! So many lessons to take away from this! Also, I visited Nigeria many years ago! I fell in love with the people! Such strong, courageous and happy people! Thank you for this story! I loved it so much! I was rooting for that smaller ant. But, life has its way with us!
THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME! This is something that is only understood, through time, patience, and understanding. Which is followed by "Though's who fail to study history, are doomed to repeat it!"
Azike, I love how the story starts with your father’s old tire chair but takes us on this wild ride through and along with Mother Nature. It is truly a reminder of how small and how much we are just a ‘piece’ of a larger in it too!
My take away is there is beauty and peace in the small things in life. The familiar is comfort. It was the space the chair held more than the chair itself. Beautifully written.
I love the way you have so beautifully crafted this story ... so much reality in the nostalgia of something that is personal to us ... you are a great story-teller! Thank you for sharing.
Love the way you hold both beauty and struggle in the same frame in this piece. The image of the ant, especially, feels like a quiet lesson in perspective: what looks like a perfect day from one vantage point can be something entirely different from another. Thank you for sharing this. It’s a reminder to pay closer attention to the small, ordinary moments that carry more meaning than we first realize.
love this ... the line about the old tire chair, being tired and wanting to retire. love that word play by play. and the study notes 📝 from watching the ant 🍪 🐜! and the way we can connect & learn from those be4 us...♡ and the way Mother Nature nutures us... but truly she only grew••• as he breathed life upon her••• ahhh Father time , Father God. of mine so true♡ so divine ✨️ 💖
This is beautiful! It inspired me and got me thinking that I should write a little piece dediated to my balcony chair here in the country of Georgia (in the caucasus region). It has meant a lot to me, especially when early postpartum and I couldn't really walk, to sit out there. Thank you for writing this, Azike 😊
I like how the story presents a theme we all understand. It’s hard to let go of something that has already become part of our lives. Attachment is a universal human issue. Our grandparents, for example, love to hold on to old things because those objects carry memories, meaning, and identity.
But in our time, something has shifted. Practicality teaches us that if something no longer serves us, we learn to release it. We let go of the old so we can move forward with clarity and lightness.
(Nigeria is close to my heart, i have a number of Nigerian students before) Thank you for sharing !!!
Thank you so much 😊... You got every detail showing you actually read it... Thank you so much for giving me a read 👐✨

This struck me:
"I saw it as a privilege to be able to enjoy the ambiance of the glowing sunlight on my skin."
Such a lovely reminder to be grateful for the little things, because they are in fact gifts. Beautiful!
Thank you so much 😊 💓

At 78 years old I now know why my father enjoyed so much sitting in his chair under the sun.
So glad you could relate to my work 😁 ✨🌿
Keep it up. John
